A Brides Hairstyle for her Wedding

I have been photographing weddings for more than a decade, recording treasured moments in locations as diverse as hotels, yachts, and outdoor gardens. As I have attended weddings on a regular basis throughout my career, I have noticed that some fashion choices seem to work well for many women, while other choices sometimes fail to turn out like the bride wanted. While the dress is the centerpiece of any wedding, other elements, such as hairstyle, make-up, and jewelry, can be just as important in defining just how the bride looks on the most special day of her life.

Hairstyle is a key concern of all brides; should it be styled up in an elegant knot of braids, down in a cascade of curls, or simply worn naturally? While hair worn down might begin to look a bit frazzled after a long day of ceremonies and celebrations, hair worn up can lose its shape and form as the night progresses as well. While putting one’s hair up seems to be a popular choice among many brides, I think it really depends on the curve of the neck and shape of the face and collarbone. In the end, hairstyle is a very personal choice, and you should always try out a few styles in front of the mirror, seeing what best suits your face, figure, and personality. Then, make a carefully considered decision, with input from family and friends.
